According to the affiliate's President, Larry Holdorf, "Our mission is to show God's love in our community by meeting or collaborating with other organizations to meet the needs of our neighbors. The generosity and support of our local citizens and businesses makes this exciting ministry able to help deserving families." Our plan is to use the funds raised here to finally complete the home of our partner family, a local school cafeteria worker and her daughter. Both mother and daughter cope with learning challenges, and our future homeowner is proud that she is showing her daughter what can be accomplished through hard work and determination. Covid hit our community of volunteers pretty hard, so we had to postpone construction activities several times to ensure the safety of our older volunteers and the partner family. Since restarting work on the home, we have had challenges of material cost increases and supply chain and licensed subcontractor availability. The funds raised here will help us cover the cost increases. The family provides "sweat equity' for their new home by working alongside our volunteers and gaining knowledge of home maintenance.
