Over 700 children were removed from dangerous environments in CPS Region 4 last year. Some removed from chronic physical abuse, neglect, victims of child pornography, sex trafficking, and other abuse at the hands of their caregivers. These children are your neighbors, your child's best friend, children you see in the store, and attend your schools. The abuse is traumatic, and the removal, though necessary, becomes another defining traumatic event in their lives. children Our mission is to comfort these children at this point of trauma, wrapping them in a soft, slightly weighted blanket that has encouraging words of affirmation. These blankets help decrease the anxiety at the removal and are designed to stay with these children for years.
