Program Philosophy and Goal The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council believes that chemical dependency is a progressive, incurable, chronic and fatal disease that can be managed with long term treatment. It is essential that treatment include family and/or significant other involvement and 12 step or other support groups available in the local area. The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council goal is to provide a quality outpatient treatment program that focuses on the recovery and maintenance from abuse/addiction of mind-altering chemicals. The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council subscribes to the belief that abstinence from consumption of all mind-changing chemicals (including alcohol) is the only current practice that can lead to a successful treatment outcome.
